“My name is Venkat Ramana. I failed 10 th class in 1999 falling short of 1 mark. My father works as a waiter in a hotel, where he gets around Rs.2000/- a month on which my mother, a brother, sisters and I, depend. As that amount was insufficient for our family to survive, I was compelled to take up an office job initially and later I was promoted as a Service Technician in Mabood Electronics with a salary of Rs.1000/- per month. Working thus, I managed to complete my Inter syllabus and take the exam. At that time, I came across a person who was working for Satyam Computers and he suggested me to join Satyam Foundation to improve my skills.

I joined the IT school run by Satyam Foundation where I learnt spoken English, improved my communication skills and also picked up some computer skills. After the course, I happened to attend an interview for a scanner operator position. I got selected and I was asked to work in Kuwait with a net salary is Rs.8000/-. Right now I am working happily at the same job and I am expecting a salary hike. My family is getting by in comfort and with self-respect.
