Case Illustrations

The Client

One of the largest government organizations in the Northern Province of South Afirca seeked to establish customized Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan for their IT infrastructure focused on their Health Care system. The network included Leased Lines as well as VSAT spread across more than 70 locations and consisting of more than 40 Hospitals, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing collages and a Pharmaceutical depot.

The Challenge

• completely outsourced services was provided by two vendors
• No processes in place to address infrastructure issues
• Locations spread wide across the province
• there was no inventory of the IT infrastructure
• No SLA’s with support vendor

 The Solution

The overall project involved a collaborative development of the BC and DR plans involving participation of senior management and all the stakeholders of the processes. A team of ERM consultants developed the BC and DR plans using a tailored version of COMBATTM methodology. The ERM consulting practice leveraged its experience in successfully developing and implementing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans across Satyam as well as its global customers.
