As service providers re-haul their networks for triple- and quad-play services–integrating voice, data, and interactive services–their IT systems will have to be re-invented as well. The “dinosaurs”–old legacy applications for BSS/OSS –will need to become flexible and support rapid creation and deployment of new products and services.

Satyam is partnering with Microsoft, BEA and IBM to create frameworks that enable different elements in IT subsystems to communicate effortlessly. In practical terms, this will help “internal” users, such as customer agents, to provision new services seamlessly from a single user portal. For customers, it means powerful self-service portals for billing and CRM activities.

Using a service-oriented architecture, our NextGen Portal solutions integrates legacy applications into one framework, into which IP services can be plugged in. Through this single, unified application, the service provider will be able to create, deploy, and execute services in a scalable manner. By enabling different applications –legacy and new –on the same framework, these new portals will ensure that old IT investments are optimized without compromising support for new IP-led services.
