Satyam hosted a forum for an intellectual
exchange on Media industry trends
Recently, the Media and Entertainment Practice hosted several customers—senior managers and IT directors—for a half-day information Media Mindshare exchange at the London Marriott Hotel at the West India Quay. Our customers discussed several issues and concerns, and shared ideas about how to tackle them.
Roger Newman, the M&E leader, introduced participants and defined the agenda. He emphasized Satyam’s seriousness in building a Practice that delivers the right solutions to Media customers and how networking will enable Satyam to shape its Practice and centers of excellence.
Roger also said Satyam believes that revenues can be increased and customer relationships can be deepened by combining traditional strengths with deep industry expertise. Later, David Worlock, chairman of Electronic Publishing Services, discussed trends in the content industry—notably, the trinity of content, access, and context. While content is king, context and access are certainly kingmakers.
John Prideaux from the PA Consulting Group then spoke about the Web Site Accessibility Act. Publishers throughout the room took notes on the Disability Discrimination Act, which makes it illegal to discriminate against a disabled person.
Just as the M&E Practice lets customers shape the nature of their CoE investments, the moderators allowed participants to shape the next segment. They did, by mentioning enterprise content integration, specific workflow solutions, modular approaches, and deploying enterprise solutions.
