Overview
|
GE’s Wealth Income Management provides services for variable annuities, fixed annuities, single premium immediate annuities, and variable life insurance products. These are supported by the following four systems: TRANSCEND, UAS, VANTAGE ONE, and LIFECOMM.
The insurer engaged Satyam to implement new packaged software to consolidate and administer these product lines.

Business
Need and
Satyam’s Involvement
|
Before the project, the systems:
- Did not support the new line of single premium immediate variable annuities (SPIVA)
- Had problems managing four systems for policy administration
Satyam led the end-to-end implementation of a single system—a leading insurance package—that was designed to manage all four applications. The team also was charged with porting existing data to the new environment. Those efforts involved:
- Analysis of exiting system functionalities
- Development of interfaces and programs in the packaged system
- Integration testing
Technologies used:
- COBOL
- DB2
- CICS
- HTML and JScript with FrontPage 2000
